From the 1950s onward, he photographed not only celebrities and famous political figures, but also sociopolitical events, producing many iconic photos. About the Author
Elliott Erwitt, who was born in Paris in 1928 to Russian parents, came to the U.S. in the late 1930s. After establishing himself as a magazine photographer over the next decade and a half, he joined the renowned Magnum photo agency in 1953. In addition to his work for magazines, he also had great success as an advertising photographer. Elliott Erwitt died at the end of November 2023 at the age of 95.
|Elliott Erwitt is one of the most prestigious photographers in the world. A street photography legend, he is best known for his black and white candid shots of ironic and absurd situations within everyday settings - a master of Henri Cartier-Bresson's "decisive moment".
