Since its release, the show was been viewed in 40 million households within the first four weeks, and is now widely celebrated for its honest and sensitive portrayal of how teenagers deal with sex and consent in the modern age.
Fionna Fernandes is a Sydney-based illustrator who enjoys drawing a variety of subject matter: portraits, stickers, landscapes, lifestyle and animals for clients in fashion, editorial, advertising and more. Everything she creates has a touch of fun to it as she selects key details to highlight in a rainbow of colour, adding in patterns as a flourish that give her work its highly individual visual language.
Taking inspiration from Lisa Frank, Super Mario and My Little Pony, you know you're in for a colourful ride with the young Australian artist. The 90s, Japanese culture, and the artists Laura Callaghan, Hattie Stewart and Georgia Perry are just some of her influences. Fionna has a Bachelor degree in Design in Visual Communication from the University of Technology in Sydney. All the elective courses she took were focused on illustration. Laurie Nunn is an award winning writer of film, television and theatre. She was born in London and grew up in Victoria, Australia. She studied writing and directing at the VCA school of Film and TV in Melbourne, and then completed an MA in screenwriting at the National Film and Television School in the UK. Since graduating in 2012, she has found huge success as the creator of Netflix's hit show SEX EDUCATION which has just finished shooting it's third series. Laurie's first play KING BROWN was workshopped at the National Theatre Studio and went on to win a Judges award at the 2017 BRUNTWOOD PRIZE.
